Finally found employment here
In a chimney off of Holiday square
But it aint Christmas
And I’m not keeping coal
A breaking point
In my piggie bank
Shaking a Subway cup of change
But quarters aren’t enough for me to thank anyone
I’ve got to take this family whole
But I wont hurt one damn soul
A breaking point that cracked the bank
Left me here with a cup of change
My piggy bank always takes
the breaks I never snagged
Slipped right in all covered in ash
A black that leaves a moral rash
That scared away any kiss I ever gave
And the daughters that were living there
Were the first to scream and first to hear
“Holy mother there’s somebody downstairs”
Dad wakes up and grabs a gun
And a Louisville slugger
Over his right shoulder
I’m shouldering the weight
Of the blows until the cops come
Normally, typically
I’d be the first one to run
I’ve run out of things to do
Got a toilet and a cot in this old cell room
And a narrative on youth that I’ve read a few times over
Everything seems over and half my worries too
And I no longer have to worry
…about my Piggy Bank
